The federation of the Arab Engineers has adopted the structure of the renewable energy committee (as one of its committee) under the presidency of Dr. Abdullah Ismael, Vice President and membership of five members from other Arab countries.
Selecting Dr. Abdullah Ismail, a professor in the electrical engineering department at Rochester University of Technology Dubai, , as President, is deemed a recognition and acknowledgement of the great role of the UAE in the alternative and sustainable energy and its efforts to find innovative and sustainable solutions that promote the smooth transition from traditional energy sources to renewable energy sources, as they are a fundamental pillar of sustainability.
Engineer Muhammad Mashroom, Chairman of the Society of Engineers, described the selection of Dr. Abdullah Ismail in the regional forum as a right choice because of their qualifications and cumulative expertise they have in the renewable energy. Furthermore, it is also deemed a gain for the state that enhances its proactive efforts to adopt the latest innovations that drive the march to confront the effects of climate change and mitigate global warming, making significant contributions in supporting of the United Nations' 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Eng. Abdullah Youssef Al Ali, Vice President of Engineers Society, appreciates the significant interest and attention paid by the State to the renewable and clean energy projects, and adoption plans and strategies to confront the challenges it faces. He stated that the Society saves no efforts to provide and facilitate all logistic procedures to the committee to duly perform its required role.
Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Al Hosni, a member of the Society Board, the permanent member of the executive council of the Federation of the Arab Engineers, praised also the state's hosting for the committee represented in the Engineers Society, and selecting UAE to be the center and hub of the renewable energy committee as an effective committee in the Federation of the Arab Engineers, stating that the committee's contributions will enrich the State's efforts in engineering researches and studies in the renewable and clean energy.
Khalil Al Hosni also revealed the committee's intention to expand the committee membership in the future to include 15 members from all over the Arab countries.
