Formation of the 3rd Session of the Society of Engineers' Youth Engineers Council

The Board of Directors of the Society of Engineers SoE – UAE approved the third formation of its Youth Engineers Council submitted by Sheikha Dr. Nahla Ahmed Al Qassimi, Board Member and Head of the Youth Engineers Council of SoE, to be chaired by Eng. Fatimah Jaafar Karim and Eng. Abdul Nasser Mohammed Al Naqbi as Vice Chairman. The new formation includes the membership of Eng. Hind Ahmed Kulthum, Eng. Waheed Al-Din Ibrahim Al-Masry, Eng. Saleh Salim Al-Marri, Eng. Jaber Batti Al-Ahbabi, Eng. Khawla Ahmed Al-Shizawi, Eng. Fatimah Jassim Al-Hammadi, and Eng. Maryam Mohamed Al-Shamsi.

 "The new formation of the Youth Council aims at strengthening and empowering the role of youth in the engineering sector. It serves as a response to the directives of the wise leadership of the UAE, which is keen on cultivating the personal and professional skills of young engineers and giving them the opportunity to introduce innovative initiatives and be able to lead and make remarkable social and engineering change, under the slogan <By Youth and For Youth>". Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi emphasized. The new formation highlights the importance of cooperation and partnership with various local and international organizations concerned with the affairs of the young engineers, for the development of the capabilities of engineers and qualifying them for a prosperous future.

Youth Engineers Council, affiliated to SoE, seeks to achieve several objectives, most important of which is developing the personal and engineering skills of young engineers, activating their role within society by involving them in international and global events and conferences in engineering field, as well as concluding partnerships that would upgrade and qualify youth engineers, and transfer expertise and exchange information between them and between experienced individuals by facilitating their communication with officials in government and private entities and the various engineering sectors in the UAE.

In turn, the chairman of the new council, Eng. Fatimah Jaafar Karim, paid attribute to the efforts made by the previous council and its achievements, most noticeably was the organization of the 40th anniversary celebration of SoE – UAE and the celebration of the Engineer's Day 2020, in addition to organizing the Second Youth Engineers Forum and several field visits, workshops, and remote dialogues on various engineering disciplines as well as social, economic and environmental issues affecting the world of engineering.
