Eng. Mohamed Mahmoud Mashroum, Chairman of the Society of Engineers (SoE), stressed the importance of a national strategy for research and development for the next 50 years targeting the academic and industrial sector, as such strategy represents the road map for the future of scientific research in the UAE.

Eng. Mashroum stated this in SoE's recent participation in a seminar organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology to discuss the national strategy for research and development and public participation in the next fifty years.

The SoE presented several proposals that would enable government and private entities and sectors to enhance the prosperous process in scientific research along with society engagement in such process by creating a mindset and promoting a research environment among all members of society. In addition to the importance of encouraging and developing national talents in the field of research and development through delivering an incentive program for UAE citizens to continue research and development.
