On behalf of Society of Engineers ­ UAE and World of Engineering Magazine Editorial Board, we would like to thank you for your
valued support throughout our journey. We would like to present you our Issue 72 which features editorials like Mastering
Sustainability in Smart Cities, Greening the Built Environment and many more. We promise to be persistent in issuing a regular
and systematic magazine that provides new and innovative news that evolves in engineering industry. We are inviting everyone to
participate and contribute your articles, latest researches and studies so as to contribute to the growth and development of the
engineering profession in the UAE.
Society of Engineers ­ UAE recently acquires prominent affiliations with well-known organizations locally and internationally.
SOE attains accreditation with International Asset Management which will allows us to provide trainings and examinations in asset
management. Society will also organize various events, seminars and activities in the same field as we believe that one of the most
important factors in the success of the organization is its assets. SOE became an Associate Member of the International Federation
of Consulting Engineers or commonly known as FIDIC. Our association and partnership with FIDIC will increase awareness and
expertise in the engineering sector locally and internationally and will help promotes the business interests of firms supplying
technology-based intellectual services for the built and natural environment. SOE recently signed MOU with Dubai Courts wherein
they will collaborate in different aspects of preparation and enhancement of the experts' qualifications through different training
programs, evaluation of the assessing committee on the experience and qualifications of the nominee and prepare them on online
exam to qualify them as professional Expert and practice the profession in Dubai Courts and throughout the UAE.
Society of Engineers ­ UAE is organizing Conferences, Seminars and Workshops that promotes Best Practices in Engineering,
Sustainability and Project Management to further enhance and upgrade the engineering profession. SOE participates in every
engineering activity in the UAE and GCC countries to create an extensive knowledge and updated information in the engineering
and sustainability. SOE participated in the Solar Energy and Middle East Electricity Exhibitions where His Highness Sheikh
Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and H.E. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director
General of the Dubai Health Authority and President of Society of Engineers ­ UAE visited the stand of the SOE and ascertains that
SOE's participation reflects its essential role in the field of sustainable development.
Society of Engineers ­ UAE has organized a 2-day Managing Sustainable Energy Conference which its success reflects on the vital
role played by the SOE in bringing together the regional leaders in the field of oil & gas, project management, and sustainability.
The conference tackles about the reality of today's environment, the world's multiplying energy demand and its enormous
challenges and impact on industry, government, society and individuals. The conference program is based on SOE's vision to
provide Best Engineering Practices in the UAE that provides professional competency in management skills with a strong
foundation in the corporate and social responsibilities. Providing awareness on responsible energy resources use, and the
development of sustainable sources of energy, has become a critical national and global issue.
This year SOE will be participating in WETEX, the leading international institutions in the energy, water and electricity sectors
which prioritize environmental sustainability. WETEX will provide various topics relevant to electricity, water, solar and nuclear
energy as well as energy, water, and natural resource conservation and sustainable development and other issues that are currently
in the spotlight, of the public and private sectors around the world.
