The Society of Engineers UAE supported the Wooden Bridge Competition organized by the American University of Dubai. The event brings together a wide variety of students from engineering schools for friendly competitions centered around wooden bridge testing. The competition participated by engineering students from various universities in UAE and Sultanate of Oman. The prize money for the winning teams was awarded by Eng. Raed Al Arashi, Board Member of Society of Engineers UAE. The American University in Dubai got the first place, the American University of Sharjah took the second place and Manipal University for the third place.
According to Eng. Raed Al Arashi, the participation of Society of Engineers in this type of competition stems from its belief in the importance of rehabilitation and development of the young engineering talent and implant the spirit of challenge and creativity inside them, which is one of the most prominent ingredients that contribute to the preparation of generations to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, “In the Race for Excellence There is no end of the line.”
