"Society Of Engineers" A Member Of The "FIB"
The International Federation for Structural Concrete
(FIB) has granted the UAE, represented by the Society
of Engineers- UAE (SOE-UAE), its membership. SOE-UAE
has lately become the FIB main office in the UAE. This
membership is a global milestone in SOE-UAE's record
of honor, proving its keen interest in becoming an
active member in all engineering organizations and
bodies locally, regionally and globally. The UAE engi-
neering sector is undoubtedly the major beneficiary
of all these efforts, particularly in the area of exposure
to international expertise in the industry. It will also get
the benefit of importing global trustworthy practices,
both in engineering expertise in general and the field
of structural concrete in particular.
Sherif Yahiya, professor of Civil Engineering, the Amer-
ican University of Sharjah (AUS), has represented the
SOE-UAE in the membership ceremony where he has
been selected vice-president of its branch in UAE,
and Eng. Mohammed Khoder Al Dah, Director of the
Technical Department, Dubai Land Department (DLD)
president of the branch.
Meanwhile, SOE-UAE held a meeting with the UAE
Ministry of Infrastructure Development delegation.
Eng. Eng. Rayed Al-Arashi, board member and chair-
person of SOE-UAE engineering arbitration, has con-
vened at the SOE-UAE headquarter in Dubai with a
number of professionals from the FIB to discuss the ma-
jor problems and challenges facing the Ministry in the
field of structural concrete, pondering over the poten-
tial solutions.
